The rumors around twang town USA are true. Jason Aldean admitted to a reporter of the Tennessean Newspaper, just prior to the Memorial day weekend, that he is "ticked-off, really mad" at Brad Paisley. Seems that Jason Aldean had made plans long ago to be "thee guy" to re-unite super-group Alabama. However, Brad Paisley released a new single that features the group Alabama, now Aldean can't reunite a group that has already been reunited. When asked if he, Aldean would say something to Paisley about spoiling his big "dream/fantasy" of reuniting Alabama, he said "dang right I am and I'll get the chance to when we work together next month during CMA Music Fest." But that's not all to this story. Brad still has a few tricks up his sleeve according to my buddies on the inside. OK here goes...

Here's (as Paul Harvey would put it) the rest of the story. If what my record label promoters friends are telling me is true, Jason Alden may get the opportunity to not only meet and greet the super four-some from Fort Payne Alabama. He will more than likely be invited on stage to perform with Brad and Alabama during a "surprise on stage drop in." How about that for sucker punch Jason? I hope I didn't spoil it for anyone but I can attest to this, Alabama is busier now that the group retired than when it was doing a regular tour schedule. I tried to book Alabama and/or Randy Owen to come to Abilene and perform here at a "Fund Raiser Concert" for one of our local charities, but was politely told "they are way to busy right now" when I asked if I could book Randy Owen and/or Alabama for a 2012 concert date I was told "not at this time, these guys are more sought after now since the release of the Brad Paisley song than ever before, so busy we've had to put on extra staff to keep up with all their bookings." Now this is Randy Owen who took the time to come and induct me into the Country Music Dee-Jay Hall Of Fame, of course that was prior to "Old Alabama." Shoot I've known these guys long before they ever had their first hit song. I will admit Alabama did set the benchmark for country artists today. Welcome back boys, and Mr. Aldean I'm glad Alabama is back I really did miss them too. In a fist fight my money is on Brad Paisley cause he's small, wiry, fast and oh yea! he knows Kung Pao.
