March 13, 2013 One year ago today I was laying in a hospital bed having a double mastectomy. I received news of breast cancer just 3 weeks before that and made the decision that best suited me. I don't regret it and as my boyfriend says "they were killing you". Today I celebrate my first year of being cancer free!

March 13, 2013 I've been telling myself for several weeks that it's time to start taking better care of myself and get back into a workout routine. I suppose my excuses dried up, and the reasons to get back into shape finally won out. So yesterday, I decided to make the time, and committed to joining a gym.This morning was the first time I've worked out since 2006.
March 12, 2013 This is Wolfe, a German Shepherd Black Lab mix that was turned in by his owner because the landlord said "either the dog goes or you both go." So the owner brought Wolfe to that Abilene Animal Shelter in hopes of finding Wolfe a home before his time runs out. Wolfe sits, stays, and follows basic commands. He is a very well behaved 9 year old, and the fact that he is fixed, chipped and has his shots makes him a very attractive pet price wise.

March 11, 2013 Adam Fears is originally from right here in Texas, Tyler to be exact, but he lives, writes, and records in Nashville now, but there was a time when he was practically living in West Texas. A few years ago Adam was a regular around the KEAN studios, I just wished I had kept one of his old interviews just to play them back now that he's got his first national release. I told him back then and I'll say it again "Adam you've got something, go to Nashville and make something happen for yourself." From what I can tell Adam Fears is like an old bottle of bourbon, he just keeps getting better with time. Just listen to his new song.
March 11, 2013 Many of you know I attended Texas A & M for awhile, although I ended up graduating from Tarleton State University. It doesn't matter though because once an Aggie always an Aggie. I truly cannot tell you how much I believe that. It's not just about getting a degree from there but more the comradery and atmosphere of the location; College Station.

March 9, 2013 Abilene's largest and most popular clay shoot is upon us. The 11th Annual West Texas Rehabilitation Center's Top Gun Classic Clay Shoot is taking place March 21st and 22nd. The classic is at capacity as far as shooters are concerned. As I was broadcasting live at Haught's Tree Service recently, I spoke with the Rehab Centers Director of Marketing and Donor Relations Dan Huggins (who was there picking up prizes), he said "we will never be too full that we can't take another team."
