March 23, 2013 Mark Cooke released the video for his new "Stay With Me Tonight" single. While the song deals with the issue of two lonely, recently divorced people, the video does a lot to follow the storyline of the song. The fact that his costar is hot doesn't hurt things either. Although Mark continually asks "Stay With Me Tonight" and starts to sound like another typical 'one night stand' kind of song, this one turns the corner nicely into, two people just enjoying being with one another.
March 22, 2013 The 5 month old Boxer Lab mix named Ginger found everlasting love once and for all. Friday afternoon, Crystal who is from Eastland Texas, heard about Ginger and came to her rescue. According to Animal Shelter employees, strays are harder to get adopted because very little is known about them. Chalk one up for the good guys, or should I say good girls like Crystal. March 21, 2013 Tyler Farr just released his new single 'Redneck Crazy' and then had to make an adjustment to the lyrics because the original has a lyric that is a little too offensive for radio. While some words are allowed in today's radio world, there are other words that have no business being on the radio. I believe that the late comedian George Carlin did a stand up routine on the seven dirty words not allowed to be said on the radio, and Tyler Farr used one of those words. Thus the politically correct alternate lyric version.
March 21, 2013 This is Ginger, the most lovable 5 month old Boxer Lab mix that is looking for love. She was found roaming the streets of Abilene around the 3200 block of North First Street when she was picked up by the Abilene Animal Shelter. Because Ginger is a stray, she will need to find a home right away before her time runs out this weekend. I spent some time with Ginger and discovered she loves to sit in your lap and just chill out, which is a good thing that she only weighs 25 pounds. She is very well behaved for a 5 month old.
March 20, 2013 I've decided to start taking some weekend road trips to places I can make in a day. My first one was to Underwood's Cafeteria in Brownwood. While we were in Brownwood, we discovered that their Antique Shops were open on Sundays, that is a big "road trip" plus. Then it was off to Underwood's where the big sign boasts "The Best Eatin' in Town Since 1946." Underwood's Cafeteria is still serving up some of the best Bar-B-Q meats in West Texas. But is their Bar-B-Q what folks remember most?
March 20, 2013 I have (count them) eight wonderful children, five daughters and three sons. In an effort to try and teach this last child the value of money I decided I would prove to her that there is money in trash. So instead of throwing away our aluminum soda cans, we would save them and turn trash into cash. I went by Harbor Freight and purchased a can crusher for my 10 year old little princess, who began her can crushing journey six months ago. Just last week during Spring Break we took seven large trash bags full of cans to Pine Street Salvage.

Now those four winners of the prestigious 'Ultimate Elvis Presley Tribute Artist Competition' are touring together, as they portray the King of Rock and Roll at various stages in his career. From the young Elvis recording in Memphis at Sun Records to the G.I. Blues era to the Las Vega high roller to the black leather 'Comeback Special Elvis of '68' to the touring Elvis clad in white jumpers. This unique Broadway/Vegas style show is coming to Abilene in April.

Rachele Lynae talks about her music with her producer, who also happens to be country music superstar Jamie O'neal. Rachele says "recording this album with Jamie as my producer was not only fun, but was also very intimidating and challenging because Jamie will say, look try singing it this way, she'll sing a little of it, and that in itself is very challenging and makes me want to do better." Rachele sounds like a mature well seasoned country music veteran. Nothing could be further from the truth, Miss Lynae is only 19 years young. Here's the reason she sounds so mature.

The NCAA is a non-profit organization that is raking in the cash, $10.8 billion to be exact. However, America's Business' will loose over $134 Million dollars because of the March Madness Tournament. The loss is due to loss of worker productivity in the first two days of the tournament alone. But is it happening here in Abilene or the Big Country?
March 17, 2013 The Annual CarWalk hosted by the Center for Contemporary Arts (CCA) is coming to downtown Abilene July, 11th 2013. While you might think it's a bit early, the CCA is trying to get car owners and classic car enthusiasts to sign up early and get their assistance in helping organize this years CarWalk/ArtWalk. This years theme is "Where the Rubber Meets the Road."
March 16, 2013 Those "Gentle Giants" more commonly known as the "Budweiser Clydesdales" are coming to Abilene to the Western Heritage Classic May 9-11, at the Taylor County Expo Center. The best place for West Texans to get their first view of the famed Budweiser Clydesdales will be at the 'Western Heritage Parade' at 6:30 p.m. on May 9th as they pull the Budweiser wagon through the streets of Downtown Abilene.
