Abilene Philharmonic to Present Two ‘Holiday Pops’ Shows on Saturday December 1st
The Abilene Philharmonic presents ‘Holiday Pops’, a traditional Christmas concert that includes performances from up-and-coming as well as nationally acclaimed artists. Get into the Holiday spirit with the most awesome musical event to grace the Abilene Civic Center Stage. Holiday Pops features special guests like; Travis Cloer, Niki Scalera, the UNT Singers, ACU’s Jazz Ensemble and the Wylie Junior High Choir. Holiday Pops is set for December 1st.
The Holiday Pops show will have all your holiday favorite holiday songs and will feature guest artists Travis Cloer, Kristen Hertzenberg, the University of North Texas Singers, Abilene Christian University Faculty Jazz Ensemble and the Wylie Junior High Choir. Bring the family and celebrate the reason for the season with the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra. This year, there’s an added matinee Saturday, at 3 PM in addition to the standard 8 PM performance.
David Itkin, music director and conductor says “We are very excited about our Holiday Pops this year. Not one, but two Las Vegas stars as our vocal soloists, dancers, a world-class choir, lots and lots of holiday favorites mixed with new surprises. We’re going to have a lot of fun.” Heidi Kelley the Executive Director for the Philharmonic says “the 3 PM Matinee is designed specifically for families with a special ticket price, with general admission seating. Children under age 6 are get in free and children ages 6-17 are just $5. Adult tickets are $10. Dyess Air Force Base families can contact the Airman and Family Readiness Center for free tickets thanks to support from the Philharmonic’s Ticket Reach Program. The matinee will be a bit shorter than the evening version and will include sing-along songs, a visit from Santa Claus and treats for the children. The 8 PM performance is the traditional community favorite, so get your tickets now while great seats are still available.

Tickets are $10 for upstairs seating and $25 for downstairs reserved seating.
