You Can Own Unabomber’s Personal Effects
Yes, it is true, you can own some of the Unabomber's personal effects. The proceeds will be used for the families of the victims. The U.S. Marshall's no longer need these items and will auction them off with the proceeds to go to the victims families. Ted Kaczynski, known as the Unabomber, engaged in mail bombings for nearly 20 years and killing 3 people before he was caught. He was turned into authorities by his own brother who recognized his writing style from a manifesto that was written.
That manifesto is just one of many items that will be auctioned off between May 18th -June 2nd. There are also tools, a duffel bag, shoes, a typewriter and more. If you are interested in this auction there is a government auction website that has complete information.
Auction Unabomber’s Personal Effects - The personal effects of Ted Kaczynski, aka the Unabomber, will be sold via GSA Auctions on behalf of the U.S. Marshals beginning May 18, 2011. U.S. District Judge Garland Burrell of the Eastern District of California ordered the sale in August 2010. Proceeds from the auction will be used to compensate Kaczynski’s victims.
