Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard Team Up for New Duets Album

Not since 'Pancho & Lefty' have we had a duet from  Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. This time we are getting a whole album worth of duets from the two, with their new album Django & Jimmie.

It's been 30 plus years since the successful duet of Pancho & Lefty and these two mega country artists are set to release a full album of brand new duets. The album will feature both covers and new music, with the debut single called 'It's All Going to Pot'.

The title Django and Jimmie is a reference to artists Django Reinhardt and Jimmie Rodgers. These are artists long admired by Nelson and Haggard. The album also pays homage to their longtime friend Johnny Cash. Also featured on the album is a song written by Bob Dylan 'Don't Think Twice, It's Alright'.

This is an album that had long been talked about by the two, but once they got into the studio it came together quickly. Sometimes, things are just meant to be and I think this album is one of those things. You can pre-order your copy now but it will be officially released June 2nd.
