The corpse flower is its common name because of the rotting flesh smell it produces.  It's very rare and only blooms for a couple of days.  It's official name is the Amorphophallus Titanum; that's why everyone just says corpse flower.  This rare plant is on display at the Ohio State University greenhouse and is about to bloom.  The plant is over 8ft tall and will be one of five planted in 2001 to bloom.  This plant is usually found in the rainforests so not many people ever get to see them in nature.  I have a couple of videos that will explain more about this rare, stinky flower.

This first video explains about the plant it's self.  The second video is actual time-lapse footage of a blooming flower from Western Illinois University last year.  If you are anywhere near Ohio State in the next few weeks you might want to check it out for yourself, it's usually a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
