Texas' Most Wanted Sex Offender: Statewide Manhunt Underway for Michael Scott

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has launched a statewide manhunt for Michael Evan Scott, a convicted high-risk sex offender who is this month’s Featured Fugitive on Texas’ 10 Most Wanted list. Authorities have increased the reward to $4,000 for information leading to his arrest if a tip is received in February 2025.

Who Is Michael Scott?

Scott, 40, from Irving, Texas, is wanted in Dallas County for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and a probation violation. He is also wanted in Tarrant County for the same offense since April 2024.

Scott has a criminal history dating back to 2005, when he was convicted of three counts of aggravated robbery, serving seven years. In 2016, he was convicted of three counts of indecency with a child by exposure, leading to four years of confinement per count. Most recently, in 2022, he was again convicted of indecency with a child by exposure and sentenced to four years of probation.

Texas Crime Stoppers, funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, offers cash rewards for tips that lead to arrests. All tips remain completely anonymous, and tipsters are given a unique tip number instead of using their name.
