Both the 'Tour de Gap' and 'Bike for Kids Sake' rallies have combined to make this one huge happy family-friendly event. All riders under the age of 14 can ride free, so long as they're accompanied by a paying adult.

This year the Tour de Gap ride at the Old Settlers’ Reunion Grounds in Buffalo Gap will count as the 38th annual event because there was no tour during the 2020 pandemic. The Tour de Gap is extremely popular with all riders, bringing in over 300 competitors every year from across the Lone Star State.

Participants will ride through Buffalo Gap and the surrounding area, one can catch their breath and rest a bit at the Old Settlers pavilion area, there will also be a BBQ lunch, as well as raffle prizes that will be given away. Saturday, riders can choose between the 11-mile race, 50K, or the 100K route.

A pre-registration fee of $45 for adults must be paid by Thursday, July 22. Registration after the 22nd is only $55. Children under the age of 14 can ride for free with a registered adult.

On Sunday, July 25th you're invited to participate in the Annual Steamboat Mountain time trial on a beautiful 20K ride around the Buffalo Gap mountain and hill country area. the best part is that it all starts at the Main Street Station in Buffalo Gap. Registration for this race in particular is only $15 with the Saturday ride or $25 if you choose to ride the Sunday race only.

All monies raised will stay in Abilene and will directly benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Abilene program. BBBS matches adult volunteers with one child in a real mentoring program.

Registration for all the Tour de Gap events can be done online at the Tour de Gap Bike-Reg website. Want to volunteer or have any further questions please call Big Brothers Big Sisters at 325-674-3101.
