A $2.4 Million Texas Win Sparks a Big Question

I was just in Dallas this past weekend, and yes, I bought a lottery ticket. For a split second, I thought, what if it’s me? What if I’m the one holding that winning ticket? Well, it wasn’t me.

But someone in Texas is celebrating big after a Dallas resident claimed a $2.4 million Texas Two Step jackpot from the March 5 drawing. The winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven on Frankford Road in Dallas, and the winner chose to remain anonymous.

The ticket matched all the numbers (2, 3, 19, 29) and the Bonus Ball (9), making it the largest Texas Two Step jackpot since 2006.

Texas Lottery Keeps Delivering Big Wins

The Texas Two Step may not get as much attention as Powerball or Mega Millions, but it’s quietly producing some serious winners right here in our state.

Jackpots start at $200,000 and grow until someone hits it. Drawings happen every Monday and Thursday night, and the next jackpot is already reset to $200,000. And yes, after hearing stories like this, it’s hard not to imagine yourself as the next winner.

If I Won Big, Here’s What I’d Do

Now here’s where it gets real. That Dallas win got me thinking, what would I actually do if I won a big Texas lottery? First thing right off the bat, I would buy a couple of radio stations. No questions asked. I’d play the kind of music we all grew up loving, the stuff that doesn’t always get the airtime it deserves anymore.

But beyond that, I’d go bigger. If I ever hit something like $100 or $200 million, I’d buy land right here in Texas and build something special. A special place where people who are struggling, like the homeless, could come to live, work, and rebuild their lives. Not just a handout kind of place, but rather a hand up, and I would live there with them.

They’d have a place to stay, food to eat, and a chance to earn a paycheck while helping maintain the land, a real opportunity to get back on their feet with dignity. That’s the kind of dream I’d chase.

So, What Would YOU Do, Texas?

Let’s be honest, we’ve all had that moment. You buy a ticket, you check the numbers,  and for just a second, your mind starts racing.

So now I’ve got to ask you:

If you won the Texas Lottery, what’s the FIRST thing you’d do?

  • Pay off bills?
  • Help your family?
  • Travel the world?

Or maybe do something bigger than yourself? I’d love to hear your answer, because something tells me I’m not the only one who’s thought about it.
