The 42nd Annual Tour de Gap Returns to the Big Country
Tour de Gap 2025: Ride for a Purpose, Pedal for a Cause
Get ready to hit the hills of Buffalo Gap for a great cause. The 42nd Annual Tour de Gap returns Saturday, July 26, 2025, and this year, proceeds will benefit the Presbyterian Medical Care Mission, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides medical services for uninsured and underserved residents of the Big Country.

Why This Ride Matters
In years past, this midsummer bike ride has supported several other local non-prophets. But for 2025, the focus turns to helping our local neighbors who can’t afford proper health care. The Presbyterian Medical Care Mission delivers compassionate, essential medical care to those with nowhere else to turn, and every pedal stroke you take supports that mission.
I’ve had the privilege of broadcasting live from the event, and even rode it one year myself, let me tell you, this ride is no walk in the park. It’s a beautiful, challenging course, and whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a first-timer, you’ll feel the burn and the joy of being part of something bigger than yourself.
Ride Options and Routes
There are three routes available:
- 11-mile Family Fun Ride
- 50K Riders Route
- 100K Riders Route
These scenic rides loop through the rolling Callahan Divide and shaded oak trees of Buffalo Gap, just 15 minutes south of Abilene and I-20. Updated 2025 rider guides are available for both the 50K and 100K options, along with links to real-time and detailed course results.
