Texas Ranks #1 in Job Growth Over the Last Year
Why am I not surprised that, once again, the Lone Star State has gone above and beyond and set yet another record by being the one state in America to create the most jobs? Even more exciting is that we continue to beat all other states by creating the most diverse workforce, from men and women, to young and old, we are putting more Texans back to work.

Texas Tops the Nation in New Jobs
Governor Greg Abbott just announced that Texas continues to lead the nation in job creation, according to the latest numbers from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. From July 2024 to July 2025, Texas added 232,500 nonfarm jobs, more than any other state in the country. That growth also outpaced the overall U.S. annual job growth rate.
Abbott said Texas’ strong performance proves that the state’s pro-business approach is also a pro-jobs strategy. “Texas continues to be No. 1 as America’s job creator, proving that pro-business policies are pro-job policies,” Abbott said in a statement.
Why Texas Keeps Growing
The Governor credited several new laws passed this year that aim to keep the Texas economy competitive. Those include cutting back on red tape for businesses, investing in infrastructure, and expanding career training opportunities across the state. “When Texas businesses are free to succeed, jobs grow and Texans thrive,” Abbott added.
More Texans Are Working Than Ever
The July employment data also revealed new records for both the total number of nonfarm jobs and the total number of Texans working. That means not only is Texas adding more jobs than other states, but more Texans are filling them.
This milestone continues a long trend of Texas leading the way in job growth. With a business climate built around innovation, infrastructure, and opportunity, state leaders say Texas is positioned to stay at the top when it comes to creating jobs for its people.
