Based on Google search data, it was found that these insufficient sleepers have searched for sleep medication online. With help from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), JAMA, and the County Health rankings we are able to discover that some states struggle with insomnia.

This past year, a study just revealed that 34% of Texans suffer from insomnia every night, which means that 10,233,159 Texans didn't get any or enough sleep last night. Based on Google search data, the data shows that Texas insufficient sleepers have searched the web for sleep medication online 682,080 times this past year.

What does that mean? That 7% of Texans who struggle with insomnia nightly, treat their condition with sleep medication of some kind. Putting Texas residents among the nation's healthiest sleepers.

Furthermore the Lone Star State placed 45th out of the 50 states for being able to get some good "healthy" rest.

I don't know about you, but for me, I tend to fall asleep the minute my head hits the pillow. For that matter, I can fall asleep sitting up if you let me get comfortable long enough. Frankly, it's sometimes a nuisance because when it gets quiet and things slow down I'm out taking a power nap, and then within 30 to 45 minutes I'm wide awake again and running.

According to some of the latest sleep studies, we're able to identify that in every state, Americans struggle with falling asleep. Taking into account the percentage of people who suffer from insufficient sleep are searching the internet constantly looking for sleeping medications.

The CDC and JAMA think that may very well be the problem. Yep, the Internet those little handheld devices we call smartphones are pretty smart at keeping us awake for hours on end. According to the JAMA, the phones need to be put away and any lights that are emitted need to be turned off in order to get restful, healthy sleep.
