How would you like to spend a cold winter day splashing in the pool like it's summer? Here's the newest indoor waterpark in central Texas.

The City of Abilene has opened our five splash pads and in time for the Memorial Day weekend. The five splash pads are open from dawn to dusk.

Did you know Big Spring has a water park? The Russ McEwen Family Aquatic Center is now open for the summer and provides an alternative to driving to the Dallas/Ft.Worth area.

When it comes to waterparks in Texas, there are a lot to choose from. Schlitterbahn, NRH2O, and Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags are the places that come to mind. But the newest one, Splash Kingdom Waterpark Wild West in Hudson Oaks, is a little closer to home. So I decided to check it out.

As I got everyone pumped up to go on the Rudy Cruise, I planned a little surprise for a good deal of the Cruisers. We'd make one final dash to the the waterparks. I couldn't have planned it any better, because last weekend when we got into Galveston, the waterparks were closing down for the winter season.
