Aaron Vannoy the Director for Abilene Animal Control Shelter said, "Cowboy was adopted by Danielle Molina on Saturday afternoon just before we closed. She already had a great Pyrenees retriever named Charlie. Now Charlie has a buddy named Cowboy." Thanks to everyone

Can you help us save Rusty? This young (about a year old) wire-hair terrier is smart, very lovable, extremely cute and he doesn't have much time left. From the minute I saw Rusty, he looked at me, as if to say, "Hey buddy, do you need a friend to talk to?" He just looks like he'd make an awesome loyal companion and here's how you can make this little critter your best friend.

Who says that good Samaritans don't exist? Today a small red Dachshund was being delivered to the Rescue the Animals shelter, when he escaped and ran away, fast (future wienie dog race champion in the making). The Abilene Animal Shelter and Rescue the Animals (R.T.A.) quickly put out an attempt to locate, the little dog was last seen being picked up near the Winters Freeway and North First street.

Miranda Lambert really can’t seem to catch a break. After losing her father-in-law (Blake Shelton‘s dad) just a few weeks ago, Lambert was then saddened by the loss of a longtime friend, who was killed in a tragic car accident. While on tour of duty in Afghanistan, soldier Donny Eslinger adopted an adorable dog that he named Smoke-pup Barbarian. But after he was critically wounded during a mortar attack and shipped to Germany, Eslinger was forced to leave the pooch behind.
