A surfer from Massachusetts has broken a world record with his latest ride. A 90-ft wave off of Portugal's coast. He stayed on the board, rode the wave and lived to tell about it.

Garrett McNamara is 44 and a self described "extreme sport junkie". He's surfed all over the world and got extremely lucky while filming the ZON North Canyon Show 2011 in Portugal. They had been filming for two months when this wave presented it's self. Garrett rode the 90 ft. (or 9 story) wave successfully landing him the world record .

A jet ski tows Garret into the waves and lets him go from that point on it's up to him to do the rest.
