It's been nearly three years since Stoney LaRue released 'Velvet', but it looks like fans won't have to wait much longer to get a new studio album from the Red Dirt legend. LaRue has signed with independent promoter eOne Music, and they're promising a new CD before the year is out.

According to a press release posted on Stoney's official website, the new album, 'Aviators' has a late October target release. So don't be surprised if we get to hear a single from the album even sooner! The press release states:

Stoney Larue...has signed with Entertainment One Music...Larue has teamed with well known award-winning producers Frank Liddell (Miranda Lambert, Lee Ann Womack, David Nail, Chris Knight) and Austin’s Michael McCarthy (Spoon, Patty Griffin, Heartless Bastards, The Features) for his eOne debut, Aviators, due October 28.

The release of 'Aviators' has been a topic of discussion since the beginning of the year. It seems the delay in its release is more business-related than anything. The statement goes on to quote Stoney, who is clearly happy with the new partnership:

“I would like to say many many thanks to eOne for helping get our music become known to more people and homes. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such supportive friends and folks and will continue to create new music for years to come.”

The press release goes on to quote Van Fletcher of eOne Music, stating:

“We signed Stoney because he has a strong distinctive voice, great stage presence with a band or solo. Most importantly these new songs are musical stories written with something to say that reach beyond a format or area of the country. Over the last few years Stoney became known in the southwest and around the country for his live shows and this album shows he is writing and performing better than ever.

Congrats to Stoney. Now, time to begin the countdown to October 28th!
