“The accident felt like a bad dream,” said singer Sara Bareilles who had just finished her performance Saturday when the stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair. Country vocal group Sugarland was three minutes from taking the stage, before the collapse took place. It is confirmed at this time that five were killed and 40 more were injured in the mishap. Moments before the collapse concert organizers had decided to call the show off due to the rapid changing weather conditions.

Investigators are still looking into what exactly caused the collapse but the weather is being blamed for the catastrophe in the early stages. Some eyewitnesses reported that the winds kicked up and that the stage swayed and then it all came tumbling down. Emergency response teams were quick to arrive and began recovering those that lost their lives and were helping to retrieve any survivors.
Sugarland tweeted "Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone at this time."
