Alec Baldwin Pulls ‘SNL’ Double-Duty as Trump and Bill O’Reilly
No one was exactly surprised to see Alec Baldwin kicking off the final five SNL episodes of Season 42 as Donald Trump, though the reluctantly recurring star added yet another major media impression. See Alec Baldwin face off with Alec Baldwin, as the reigning SNL host pulls double-duty as Trump and Bill O’Reilly for a Fox News sketch.
Even as Baldwin reprised his Trump impression at the top of SNL’s April 2017 debut, a pre-recorded segment featured into the show’s second half, as Baldwin led an O’Reilly Factor sketch. The real-life anchor has been making more headlines than usual thanks to sexual harassment scandals (the lost advertisers of which featured into the sketch), while Baldwin’s O’Reilly even pointed out that Trump came to his defense unprompted.
In the meantime, it remains to be seen how much more often Season 42 will feature Baldwin as Trump, though the penultimate Melissa McCarthy outing at least seems like a good bet. You can watch Baldwin’s cold open below, and stay tuned for more from the final five SNL of the season.
