Texas 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrant: Omar Zavala

For decades, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with the Department of Public Safety and local law enforcement, bringing attention to the fugitives who pose the most significant threats to our community. This month, they’re spotlighting one of the most dangerous individuals currently at large: Omar David Zavala.

Omar David Zavala is a 30-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, and he's been on the run since 2022, with multiple charges hanging over his head, including sexual assault, terroristic threats, obstruction of justice, and retaliation. Zavala’s criminal history is extensive. In 2014, he faced multiple arrests by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, culminating in his removal from the United States in 2015. Unfortunately, Zavala resurfaced in May 2020 when he was arrested by the Houston Police Department for similar crimes.

Zavala is 6 foot tall and weighs about 180 pounds, he's got a very distinctive tattoo on his right forearm. His ties extend from Harris County, including the city of Spring, and as far northeast as Virginia.

Increased Reward for August

To bring Zavala to justice, Texas Crime Stoppers has increased the reward for information leading to his arrest to $4,000 for August. This reward is part of the Governor’s Public Safety Office's initiative to ensure our communities are safe from individuals like Zavala.

Texas Crime Stoppers is awesome because they offer CASH REWARDS from the Governor’s Public Safety Office to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of any of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders, or Criminal Illegal Immigrants. This year alone, 28 fugitives have been apprehended, thanks to tips from vigilant citizens like you.
