Playboy Sued Over Gender Discrimination… of Men!

Today’s seemingly frivolous lawsuit comes courtesy of one Steve Frye, who’s upset that attractive women get into the Playboy Mansion for free while men do not.

Seems the “Leather Meets Lace” party at the iconic mansion, which was held October 1 as a fundraiser for former Playmate Jenny McCarthy’s Generation Rescue for Autism Awareness charity, charged guys $1,000 for admission while scantily-clad ladies walked in without paying a dime.

Frye later filed suit in California Central Court on behalf of all the men in attendance, claiming Playboy is in violation of the state’s Gender Tax Repeal Act of 1995, which states in part, “No business establishment of any kind whatsoever may discriminate, with respect to the price charged for services of similar or like kind, against a person because of the person’s gender.”

Frye claims allowing women to get in free “promotes harmful, negative stereotypes.” Because lingerie parties at the Playboy Mansion don’t perpetuate those stereotypes at all.

No word on whether or not the damages he’s seeking cover the cost of restoring his apparently absent sense of irony.
