Looking to “Love Thy Neighbor” this fall? Kim Austin State Farm of Abilene has just the event for you: the Third Annual Abilene Good Neighbor Day is on September 25, 2021.

Good Neighbor Day is a volunteer opportunity for the Abilene community that focuses on pairing volunteers with local nonprofit organizations or individuals who don’t have the resources available to meet their needs. Community members can also be nominated for demonstrating the qualities of a Good Neighbor and selflessly serving their community.

This year’s Good Neighbor Day will feature a blood drive on Wednesday, September 22, at 4542 S 14th Street in Abilene (behind Schlotzsky’s). The blood drive will be from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Those interested should contact Kim at (325) 692-0405, through Facebook, or at abilenegoodneighbor@gmail.com

Volunteers are also needed to aid other nonprofit organizations on Saturday, September 25. Individuals or groups can help Boots on the Ground by assembling beds for local children, Habitat for Humanity by painting and fixing up homes, and the West Texas Food Bank by filling bags with groceries.

Kim Austin State Farm of Abilene is looking for groups and individuals who are willing and ready to reach a helping hand out to their community and want to be Good Neighbors to those around them. After all, “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” is the West Texas way.

If you or your organization are interested in participating in the Abilene 2021 Good Neighbor Day, please contact Kim Austin State Farm at (325) 692-0405, through Facebook, or at abilenegoodneighbor@gmail.com
