Assisting Children In Texas: The Joseph Thomas Foundation

I've known John Thomas for nearly 20 years; he's a great community leader and a dear friend. John is the president and founder of Abilene's Joseph Thomas Foundation, which was created in honor of his son Joseph. Joseph Thomas was born with all kinds of medical issues and lived only six years.

Since the passing of his son, John began assisting other families struggling with medical issues and needing medical supplies. The foundation has helped families that have a child with health problems attain necessary medical supplies.

The Joseph Thomas Foundation Triathlon is the biggest fundraiser for the foundation every year. It's an event that includes children with major medical needs having a day of fun at Prime Time Entertainment in Abilene. Some of the activities offered include miniature golf, bowling, and skeeball.

I will warn you now, the video below about Joseph Thomas brings me to tears every time. I knew Joseph from the time he was a toddler until his passing. He was a child full of life and has touched the hearts of so many of us here in Texas.
