I'm trying my best to keep you updated on these holiday's most of us don't know about like Johnny Appleseed Day.  March 11th, that's tomorrow, is said day.  March 11 was the believed day John Chapman (Johnny Appleseed) died.  John Chapman was a religious man who gave away most of his money and lived a simple life.  He was a nurseryman who started planting trees around the New York area and as he traveled west he continued to plant trees along the way and so the legend and name Johnny Appleseed began.

There is a lot of "legend" in stories written about Johny Appleseed. By it's definition, over the years, legends grow bigger than life. It also appears that there is some link between Johny Appleseed and very early Arbor Day celebrations.
