A luxury sports car was split in half following a horrific accident on Monday. The accident involved two cars and a tree. Sadly, two people lost their lives.

According to multiple reports, Police responded to the two car accident on Monday in the 8500 block of Abrams Road in Lake Highlands Monday afternoon. Lake Highlands is located in north Dallas.

According to WFAA, the McLaren struck a tree killing both people inside the vehicle. The McLaren hit with such speed that the car split in two after hitting the tree.

One person from the other vehicle involved, a Toyota sedan, was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. The Toyota received heavy front-end damage after also hitting a tree.

The New York Post reported that photos from the scene seem to show the front of the McLaren, thought to be a 570S model, near a tree with the back half of the car about 30 feet away.

Police are still investigating the accident in order to present a clearer picture as to what actually caused the crash. The New York Post did report that a McLaren 570S can start at $195,000 and can go from 0-62 mph in just 3.2 seconds. McLaren vehicles can reach speeds up to 200 mph.
