Every single week, I sit down to write these Urgent Dogs articles, and every single week, it hits me right in the feels. The crew over at All Kind Animal Initiative keeps fighting for these dogs in Texas that somehow found themselves without a home, without stability, and in some cases, without much hope.

And honestly? I can’t say enough good things about what they do.

All Kind Receives Huge Food Donation

Recently, the shelter received a massive food donation and handed out more than 44,000 pounds of free pet food to the community. That’s not just helping shelter animals. That’s helping families keep their pets fed and hopefully preventing even more animals from ending up displaced in the first place. That stuff matters.

These Dogs Deserve The Same Love We Give Our Own

I look at my own dogs at home and think about how spoiled and loved they are. Then I look at these pups waiting at the shelter and wonder why life worked out differently for them. It kinda sucks, honestly. We only get so much time with these animals, and every dog deserves somebody who thinks they hung the moon.

Trust me, if my wife and I had unlimited space, we’d probably have turned our house into a full-blown dog ranch by now. There’d be fur on every surface and zero regrets.

Abilene May Need To Start Sending Dog Name Ideas

In one of the more lighthearted updates from the shelter, they’re apparently running low on names for incoming animals. That’s both funny and a little heartbreaking at the same time. The good news is they’re asking the community for help with name ideas over on their Facebook page.

So while you’re checking out this week’s urgent dogs, maybe throw a few names their way too. At this point, we may see dogs named “Brisket,” “Ozzy,” and “Tater Tot” rolling through the shelter soon.

Honestly? I’d totally adopt a dog named Tater Tot immediately. Check out these Texas pups who are waiting for you at All Kind.
