Cisco Lake Veterans Camp Fundraiser Comes To Abilene

I don't need much convincing when somebody says, "Come hang out Friday afternoon, sample some drinks and eat barbecue." But when doing all of that also helps support Texas veterans, now you've really got my attention.

This Friday, October 2, H&H Beverage on Denali Drive in Abilene is hosting a community fundraiser benefiting Cisco Lake Veterans Camp, and Rudy and I from Townsquare Media Abilene will be hanging out supporting this awesome event.

Located in Cisco, Cisco Lake Veterans Camp is all about giving back to the men and women who served our country. Support for the camp helps provide veterans with programs and services ranging from recreational and therapeutic activities to housing assistance and mental health support.

That's the part I don't want lost in all the fun surrounding Friday's event.

For many veterans, coming home doesn't necessarily mean the battle is over. Organizations that create a place for veterans to find support, community, and resources can make a real difference.

And here in West Texas, we know a thing or two about taking care of our own.

H&H Beverage Is Turning Friday Into a Party

Now for the fun stuff.

H&H Beverage will have a ton of great beverages available to taste Friday afternoon. So if you're looking for something new to stock up on for the weekend, this is a pretty damn good opportunity to sample before you commit.

There will also be pulled pork and chopped barbecue sandwiches, because apparently helping veterans while drinking and eating barbecue is the most Texas fundraiser imaginable.

Cool Prizes and a Special Grand Prize

There will also be a silent auction along with opportunities to win some cool prizes, including a special grand prize. The important thing is that the afternoon is designed to raise money and support for Cisco Lake Veterans Camp.

So come start the weekend with us this Friday, October 2, from 4-7 p.m. at H&H Beverage, 1626 Denali Drive in Abilene.
