Hershey Pudding Pie – Shay’s Recipe of the Week
This weeks recipe is one that has been in my family for years. I have no idea where it came from but my grandmother and mom have made it forever. It's now something I make and my family all love it. It's easy to make, tastes wonderful but doesn't last long!
Ingredients:
(There are 4 steps to this recipe)
Step 1:
- 1 stick butter - melted
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Step 2:
- 8 oz. cream cheese - softened
- 1 c. cool whip
- 1 c. powdered/confectioners sugar
Step 3:
- 1 sm. pkg. INSTANT chocolate pudding
- 1 sm. pkg. INSTANT vanilla pudding
Step 4:
- 1 c. cool whip
- 1 Hershey chocolate bar - grated
For step 1 mix together the melted butter, flour and chopped pecans. Then press into bottom of 9X9 baking dish. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes (until light brown) and let cool.
Step 2 mix together in a bowl your cream cheese, cool whip and powdered sugar. Blend well, it doesn't have to be smooth.
This next step it's important to remember to use INSTANT pudding mixes. In a bowl mix together both boxes of pudding and follow directions on box.
Once the crust is cooled you will begin to layer your pie. The first layer is step 2 ingredients, then your pudding layer and finally top with step 4. The remainder of your cool whip and grate your chocolate bar on top. Refrigerate until ready to serve and thereafter.
