Eric Church showed his hometown fans in Greensboro, N.C., some extra love during the local date of his Double Down Tour concert on March 15.

Church shared an Instagram video in which he walks out of the backstage area onto the main concourse of the arena. Security opened the doors to eagerly awaiting fans whose faces register shock as they realize that the man they're waiting in line to see is right in front of them.

Church took the time to make his way through the sea of people to shake hands, take pictures, give hugs, high fives and autographs. The fans' reactions were priceless, with looks of bewilderment and awe.

This isn't the first time Church surprised unsuspecting fans, Church has been known to pop up anywhere to meet fans, give them pit passes, sign autographs and take selfies. A fan even took a shot with him in one town!

During his Greensboro show, Church paid tribute to NASCAR legend and fellow native North Carolinian Dale Earnhardt when he performed "Talladega." Before playing the song, he held up a black and red flag with Earnhardt's trademark No. 3 and signature printed on it. Dale Earnhardt, Jr., later tweeted his thanks for Church's tribute.

Church recently announced the extension of his Double Down Tour into this fall. Church plays two almost four-hour shows back to back nightly in each city. "I don't want to quit yet. I don't want to be done yet. I don't want to be two months from the end of this thing," Church told members of his Church Choir fan club in an exclusive video announcement on March 14. "So we're going to play a little more."
