The official trailer for the upcoming film adaptation for the musical, CATS, has been released, and allows music fans a glimpse of Taylor Swift in her first feline role.

The film also stars Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, and Rebel Wilson; and introduces Royal Ballet principal dancer Francesca Hayward in her feature film debut. The film will be released on Dec. 20.

The new trailer shows us for the first time how the cast will look as computer-generated felines with "digital fur." Swift, who plays the role of Bombalurina, is seen as a ginger cat pouring catnip out of a diamond-encrusted bottle all while floating on a crescent moon. "I am a cat now and somehow that was everything," Swift wrote on her Instagram alongside the movie trailer.

Swift revealed on The Graham Norton Show that she endured feline training. "I had to go to cat school to learn how to move and behave," she divulged. "I was meant to go for three days and I stayed for four months! I had much more fun than anyone else."

The new movie will "reimagine the musical for a new generation" showcasing state-of-the-art technology, a production that is out of this world, and numerous styles of dance and music. The sets in the film will be larger-than-life, making everything seem as though you're seeing it through a cat's eyes and height.

In a behind-the-scenes video, Swift described just what being a cat entailed. "This musical is timeless," she told the camera. "We got to update it [the musical] in ways that are just so, so, so great. I came right off of a stadium tour and went right into rehearsals. Everybody's working really long hours the first thing every day, and it's fun."
