After Ten Years Kevin Fowler’s Stolen Guitar Strap Is Returned To Him
Kevin Fowler just got the best present he could ever ask for, his guitar strap that was stolen from him over ten years ago. This very guitar strap has a real special meaning to him, but we'll talk about that in just a bit.
Kevin Fowler was playing in concert back around 2010 down around Galveston when for some reason, after one of his concerts someone stole his favorite custom-made guitar strap. After reading Fowlers' post on Facebook that the "stolen strap" had been returned, I reach out to Kevin to find out more.
Here's How Kevin Fowler Meets Chris Jarvis
Kevin said "Chris Jarvis was clearing a house so it could be demolished when he discovered a few boxes in the attic with what appeared to be someone's special belongings. Next thing you know, Chris finds this "KF 100% Texas really nice guitar strap" in one of the boxes. Jarvis hung on to it and was taking it to the concert to ask Kevin if they sold them as souvenirs at concerts and if he would sign it. As Kevin explained to Chris that "no we don't sell them" and "that very strap had been stolen from me over ten years ago."

Here's What That Guitar Strap Meant To Kevin Fowler
Chris Jarvis was very pleased to reunite the guitar strap with its rightful owner. Getting back to the strap's special meaning. Fowler tells me that he ordered two identical custom guitar straps made by Fenton Texas Guitar Straps back at the beginning of his 'Texas Red-Dirt' career and that they represent the start of something new.
That said, Kevin went on to tell me that the straps are two-sided on the one side it's leather with the State of Texas embossed on it and a 14k trigold Lone Star attached with the words "100% Texan" on it. On the reverse side, it's rattlesnake skin. Nonetheless, Kevin told me "brother, I'm so so grateful that good people like Chris Jarvis exist and he was so kind to return it to me."
Here Is What Kevin Fowler Posted On His Facebook Page
Crazy story. About ten years ago somebody stole my favorite custom guitar strap from backstage at a show. Last night a guy shows up with it at the Pasadena Rodeo. He had found it in a house they were tearing down. Chris Jarvis, I can’t thank you enough for returning it to me. You made my day. Proof that there’s still some honest people out there!!!
