Vatican Goes Hi-Tech Using iPods Instead Of Tour Guides

It seems that all of our jobs are now being taken over by computers.  The Vatican tours in Rome are now no exception.  Tour guides may soon be a thing of the past.They say it's all in the name of lowering the noise level inside the Vatican.  Starting this past Tuesday and running through December they are supplying  visitors with  iPods downloaded with an app

containing all the relevant tour information instead of following around a tour guide.  The app contains information on art, architecture, and the history of the Vatican.

If I was a tour guide I would be a little upset about being replaced by a hand held computer.  Unfortunately that's what technology is doing to us these days, making us replaceable.

What are your thoughts on computers and machines taking our place in the world.  Is this good, bad are we moving way to fast with technology?
