The month of October is breast cancer awareness month and everything you see will be pink. Starting today (October 1) United Supermarkets LLC will be supporting Breast Cancer Awareness month with 'Pink Tuesdays'.

Every Tuesday in the month of October, all 50 locations of United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos in north and West Texas will be participating in the fundraising efforts.

“Each year, we team up with guests to raise awareness and funds to help fight breast cancer and work toward a cure,” said Shelby Crews, community relations manager for United Supermarkets, LLC. “Breast cancer has affected every community we serve, and we are proud to take a stand this October to help educate and empower women and men to take charge of their own breast health.”

This year United will be donating $1 for every guest wearing pink who makes a purchase of $10 or more. They will donate up to $25,000. You will also be able to purchase a pink recyclable shopping bag for $2 with $1 of that going to the fundraising as well.

So, in October when you head to the grocery store be sure to wear pink! These are some really easy ways for you to get the items you need and still give to a great cause. Making sure that women have vital information and that research is continued is tops in preventing and curing this disease. It's very treatable when caught early.
