'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,' the first film in Peter Jackson's 'Hobbit' trilogy, is hitting theaters in just a month and a half now, and that means it's time for more promotional goodies to start popping out, including the official track list for 'The Hobbit' soundtrack. Back in the summer when Warner Bros. released the 'Dark Knight Rises' soundtrack list, it gave us some hints at what we could expect to see in the film. So, with the one for 'An Unexpected Journey' now available, what does it reveal about Bilbo and his band of merry dwarfs?

THR missed this little tid bit: the 'Colbert Report' host is obsessed with Tolkien. So much so, in fact, that he got to visit the set of 'An Unexpected Journey' in New Zealand, where -- get this -- he may or may not have shot a cameo appearance for the movie trilogy!
New Zealand is pretty proud that Peter Jackson and his Warner Bros. team chose the country's landscapes to house production of 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' films. We would be too, but probably not to the extent of the New Zealanders.
In a similar fashion to the US releasing those commemorative but completely usable state-themed quarters years back, New Zealand is about to make 'Hobbit' coins a legitimate form of currency in honor of 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey's' premiere.
'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' is due out December 14, but we now already know that there will be an extended edition of the film after it hits Blu-ray and DVD, set to be released sometime in third quarter of 2013.
'The Hobbit' fans know that this week marks Tolkien Week, which is extra special do to it also being the 75th anniversary of 'The Hobbit's' publication date and all. Plus, September 22 is "Hobbit Day," the day in the book series of both Bilbo and Frodo's birthdays. So, what better way to celebrate this extraordinary occasion than having Peter Jackson release a brand-new trailer for the much-anticipated 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey'?
For a while there it looked like ‘The Hobbit’ wasn’t even going to get made, with the lawsuits and contract negotiations and all that. But it’s coming, and fans can now geek out over the first trailer for the next entry in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ saga.
