There are many artists on the radio who sing but don't write their own material, that material comes from talented people who know how to put words together to make hit songs. Those are the unsung heroes called "song writers". Snyder is celebrating a few of these song writers who also have the talent to sing as well. Skip Ewing, Rebecca Lynn Howard and Dean Dillon will all be making appearances in Snyder between July 26th and September 20 and the public is invited to the FREE concerts.

There will be 3 concerts in total between now and September. The shows will take place Thursdays, 7-8:30pm at the Gazebo Downtown Snyder and are free to the public. Song Writer concerts are fun because you get a take on the song from the person who actually penned the words, you find out how the songs came to be and you hear their version, not the "radio" version.

The first of these concerts is Skip Ewing. You may not recognize his name but you will know his songs. They have been recorded by Diamond Rio "I Believe", Kenny Chesney "You Had Me From Hello" and Collin Raye "Love, Me"; George Jones, George Strait, Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson have all recorded Skip's songs. The great thing is Skip has a beautiful voice his self and at one time had a recording contract. You won't be disappointed with his show.

The second concert will be given by Rebecca Lynn Howard on Thursday August 23rd. Howard's style varies from pop, country, bluegrass and a little rock! She's had songs recorded by Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Jessican Andrews, Clay Aiken and many others. Howard has also recorded her own music, most notably "Forgive" and has won 2 Grammy Awards. Younger audiences will love Howard but she has a great range of music that all will enjoy.

Last is Dean Dillon, he will appear Thursday, September 20th. Dillon could live off of George Strait alone. Strait has recorded more than 50 of Dillon's songs and you know if George records it, it's going #1! However, Keith Whitley, George Jones, Lee Ann Womack, Toby Keith and others have recorded songs penned by Dillon. He has a long history in Nashville where he's been a singer, song-writer, performer since the early 70's. He has a huge library of songs and no one will be disappointed with this mans performance.
