Everyone agrees that texting and driving is a bad idea. Ad campaigns have been trying to push across the message by telling people not to text while behind the wheel. But with a message of inaction, I wonder how effective these ads really are. Now, Robert Earl Keen has a solution to offer.

Texas Monthly tells us that Keen - a spokesman
for AT&T's U-Verse - believes that people who are about to get behind the wheel should let friends know when they are hitting the road. And it only takes a couple seconds. Here's the idea Robert tweeted:

Unfortunately, there will always be people who make the choice to text and drive. But for those who might find the impulse to text because a friend is trying to contact them, this could help. Nice idea, Robert. Now all we have to do is spread the word to text #X!
