PETA Wants Turkey, Texas To Change It’s Name [VIDEO]

So Thanksgiving is coming up and everyone is looking forward to some turkey and dressing, well everyone but those belonging to PETA(People for Ethical Treatment of Animals). PETA seems to always be protesting something, if it's not the fur industry then it's trying to convince the Mayor of Turkey,Texas to change the towns name for Thanksgiving.

No comment has been made by the Mayor but the people of Turkey, Texas definitely have their opinion, and it's not favorable to PETA. The less than 500 folks in Turkey say no way will they be changing their name.

PETA wants the town to change the name to "Tofurkey" to bring awareness to the everyday suffering of turkey's. They want this to bring compassion for turkey's, the residents of the town find it a bit insulting though. Saying they wouldn't change their name and to not "mess with TURKEY, Texas".

Maybe it's just me but I think PETA sometimes goes a little too far with their campaign. I think they have or had good intentions at one time but now they are getting pretty crazy with their ideas.
