The Lindale Public Library in Miranda Lambert's hometown of Lindale, TX is giving the country star a rather unique honor. They have announced that a "animals and pets" section of the library has been dedicated to Miranda. The Tyler Morning Telegraph reported the news that:

A new collection of books about animals and pets has arrived at the Lindale Library in hopes of bringing attention to a worthy cause and promoting literacy. The new section was dedicated on Sunday to country music singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert.

This is fitting, since Lambert has been a animal advocate for years, and has brought attention to the cause of pet adoption and responsible pet ownership through her MuttNation Foundation. Miranda's annual charity concert, "Cause for the Paws", is in its 6th year and raised over $400,000 at the most recent event.

MuttNation is intended to help fund organizations that build animal shelters, increase pet adoption and encourage responsible pet guardianship. It also funds rehabilitation of sick or unsocialized animals, funds spay/neuter programs, reduce/eliminate euthanasia and train shelter dogs for purposes of therapy programs, assistance for wounded military personnel, and dogs-in-prisons programs.

The new "Miranda" section of the Lindale Public Library should help people understand that there's more to the 'Fastest Girl in Town' singer than just music.
