Road Construction Projects Update in Abilene for Week of March 2-6
From repaving loop 322, to several other projects, there is quite a bit of construction going on in Abilene right now. Here’s a list of projects that Texas Department of Transportation have announced for the week of March 2-6.
- Loop 322 one-way frontage road conversions (Lytle Creek to Maple): The Industrial Blvd. ramp is now open. TxDOT is installing safety lighting, which should be completed sometime in March. A final seal coat will be applied in late May, when temperatures allow for proper seal coat application.
- FM 2404 Overlay: This project extends from US 83 to the Taylor County line. Final cleanup is currently underway.
- BI-20, FM 707, I-20 crossovers, FM 204: Drivers on these roadways can expect to see TxDOT crews hand-patching spots that were damaged from ice and water expanding in the pavement during winter weather.
- US 277: TxDOT will be planning the surface of this roadway from FM 89 to approximately 2.5 miles south. This is to increase friction and enhance safety of the roadway.
