Remember a couple of years ago we, America, decided to boycott children's toys made in China due to the lead base paint they used.  Well, over 600 Chinese have become sick due to lead poisoning. They have had over 600 people including over 100 children become sick in a case that involves a tin-foil

processing plant.  These families, and their children , worked at the plant where lead is used in the processing of the foil.  The families are in constant contact and under exposure to the lead.  At this point production has been halted.

This isn't the only lead poisoning case China has had though.  Just a month ago production was shut down at a battery factory.  In this case not only were the families exposed to lead but also cadmium.

The Chinese government is working on slowing pollution and exposure to heavy metals used during production.  My question is since it is well known the health effects of these poisons on humans why they haven't followed most other countries and banned the use of lead in production?  Americans have shown that products can be made just as well without using these products.  It's sad to say this but karma seems to have come back to bite the Chinese.  Unfortunately, it's the factory workers that are suffering the consequences not the people in government who won't regulate the problem nor the factory owners who are making millions from the products produced.
