The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is bringing the 'Neighborhood Fishing' program to Abilene. The program provides a place for people to fish inside the city limits of Abilene.
The 'Neighborhood Fishing' program is aimed at inner city kids to give them a chance to learn about fishing and get kids outdoors. Mike Homer with TPWD says this open to all kids.
The event kicks off Saturday, June 6th at Nelson Park in conjunction with the 'National Fishing Day'. The TPWD Abilene will stock a local lake inside the city limits with fish every two weeks.
