ACM nominated duo Dan + Shay spent part of their day in a Nashville-area hospital on Wednesday after Dan Smyers was injured in a car accident.

According to a tweet at his personal Twitter page, he broke his wrist in the crash and spent much of the day at the Vanderbilt emergency room. Photos show his left hand in a soft cast. “Missing my guitar already,” he said in one tweet.

The incident puts a sour stamp on a celebratory day for the duo. Earlier fans learned the '19 You + Me' singers had the No. 1 album in country music. ‘Where It All Began’ debuted on top of the charts, making them the first country duo to ever land their debut album on top.

Smyers won't get much time to rest. On Thursday (April 10) the duo's tour with Hunter Hayes resumes in Southaven, Miss. and they have shows through the weekend.
