It remains to be seen whether this will have a big effect on Detroit’s chances of finishing the job or the Yankees’ hope of a miracle comeback.
The Cardinals and Giants also saw a three-and-a-half-hour rain delay, after which St. Louis was able to outlast San Francisco to win 3-1. Could the rain delay have thrown the Giants off?
