When the first season of ABC's drama 'Nashville' winds up next month, fans will spot one of the Music City's biggest stars on their television screens, as singer Brad Paisley will appear on the show's finale.

According to Extra, Paisley will play himself and perform with characters Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon (Charles Esten). His appearance may come as a big surprise to many country music fans, since the singer recently stated that he wasn't interested in being a part of 'Nashville,' mainly because his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, plays someone else's mistress.

Perhaps the 'Beat This Summer' hitmaker has had a change of heart, or maybe he's been reassured that his wife, who has a devious role in the show, will not be in the same scene, making his protective heart rest a little easier. Whatever the reason, it's certain that Paisley's performance on the hit show will be welcomed by fans of 'Nashville' and of the country music star.

Paisley joins the ranks of numerous other musicians who have appeared on the television series, including Brantley Gilbert, Chris Young, Kip Moore, and Vince Gill. The season finale will air May 22 on ABC. With a fantastic debut of his new album 'Wheelhouse,' and an upcoming summer tour, the singer is gearing up for a successful and busy summer.
