Fabulous Finds is kind of a "one stop shop" for antiques and more. They do estate sales, appraisals, collectibles and antiques. The company is owned by Terry Stubbs and Tracy Boss. They have a store located on Grape street but they also come to homes for estate sales. You can find all kinds of fun stuff at these events. I like to check out the jewelry especially. However, you can find antique furniture, glassware, dishes, dolls, old books and baseball cards and such. Plus, it's fun to go into some of the "older" Abilene homes and check them out. Antique and Almost also does estate sales, consignments and appraisals. The business is owned by B J Naranjo-Smith, ISA,CAPP and was opened in 1988. ISA stands for International Society of Appraisers and CAPP is Certified Appraiser of Personal Property, so she very knowledgeable about antiques and their value. If you are looking to purchase antiques this is THE place to find those beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces to cherish. If you are looking to have an estate sale, I would suggest asking this lady for help because you might just be selling a very valuable piece of furniture or glassware for $5.00 when you could be getting thousands. Antique and Almost is located at 141 Clyde St. Ste A, Abilene, TX 79605.
Rust and Roses
Now this place has some beautiful large furniture pieces. Located at 1549 S. 1st, Abilene,TX. I am personally looking for a dresser and I can tell you I will be headed their direction to look for one. It's been a while since I stopped in and their inventory is always great. Some of the pieces are of course, antiques but their are also pieces that you could put your own creative touch on as well. If you are looking for clocks, ceramics, china or glassware, chandeliers and even some imported goods make sure to stop by Rust and Roses. Seeing some of these items makes me wish I had had the sense to hang on to some of my grandmothers things that I didn't see the need for at the time.
The Antique Station
The Antique Station was voted Abilene Reporter News People's Choice Award winner for "Best Antique Store in Abilene in 2011" and they are jam packed with wonderful antiques. They are located in North Abilene just across from Frontier Texas on N.3rd: 703 N. 3rd St., Abilene, TX 79601 to be exact.
The store is co-owned by 7 antique lovers and their facility has collections from 5 dealers as well as their own collection of goods. One of the owners has even been featured on the Antique Roadshow! They scour estate sales and make trips across the US to bring you some of the most unique items out there. They have classic movie posters, a great selection of dishes, vintage jewelry, antique furniture and more. Folks come to the Antique Station whenever they are in town just to see what treasures they might find. You should do the same.
The Last Remains
"The Last Remains" owned by Christine Brockman and James Brooks. They like doing things flea market style so you will find them traveling about or stop by there new location opening December 29th at 860 Hickory here in Abilene. They have some great items that you might not even know you are looking for. My boyfriend was looking for an old time pressure cooker; guess where I found 1 of 3...The Last Remains!! Christine loves to go antiquing and always has some cool finds. They carry not only antiques but also collectibles, vintage and recycled items as well. It's those recycled items that Christine likes best. Taking something that isn't old enough to fall into the "antique" category but that needs an overhaul; she fixes them up and re-sells them. As the saying goes: everything old is new again!!
Stokes and Company
Located at 1441 S. 1st street in Abilene, Stokes offers some beautiful furniture and decor. I recently went in and it's almost overwhelming the amount of inventory they have. If you are looking for a large accent piece this is the place to go. You could take the piece as is or you could even re-do it to fit your home. They have some jewelry, art pieces, seasonal decor, china, handbags, shoes, tables and chairs and much more. You might need to make a couple of trips to take it all in. That's my excuse for going back multiple times!!
