February 12, 2013 Andy Griggs agreed to do a special promotion, where he takes a test drive in a new car and he talks about his music. The subject during this test drive is his brand new song called 'Twenty Little Angels' of which all the money made from the song, Andy is donating to the victims and families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. Andy says "this song really is special to me, because of the tragedy and it's touched a lot of lives and it touched mine first." Griggs said "but it goes deeper than that."
February 11, 2013 The Dallas born Texas native Deryl Dodd once thought it would benefit him to move to Nashville Tennessee to further his music career, and at first it looked as if things were going to take off. By 1996, he signed to record for Sony/Columbia Records Nashville. Then ole Mister Bad Luck moves in, Deryl was hit with a bout of viral encephalitis putting his career on hold for quite some time. Today 'The Double D' man is back and releasing his latest single entitled 'Somethin' ain't Always Better Than Nothing.' Give it a listen and tell me what you think.
February 11, 2013 The City of Clyde has set the date for the festive yet very historic late 1800's recreation. The event will take place March 1st and 2nd, at Clyde Lake. The event has been given the name 'Frozen Foot Rendezvous' a recreation of life in the late 1800's right here in West Texas. There will be gun fights (reenactments of course), souvenir and chuck wagon food plus exhibitions of real life in the late 1800's. So lace up your boots put on your best cowboy hat and come join in on the fun at Clyde Lake.
February 7, 2013 The 3rd annual 'Valentine Vendor Fair' shopping extravaganza will be held at the Grace Museum this Saturday, February 9th. This is an great time to get those hard to buy for people in your life some unique one-of-a-kind gift items. Artisans from around West Texas will set up shop to vend their arts inside the Grace this Saturday starting at 10 AM. They say that "love is in the air at the Grace." What kinds of goods will you find at this years 'Vendor Fair?'
February 6, 2013 Billy Deans musical career has spanned more than eighteen years and he's served us up twelve albums with eleven 'Top 10' songs. Now the former Floridian is back in the thick of things with a new album and a brand new single release. The new song is called 'I Can't Leave A Good Thing' from the album 'A Man Of Good Fortune.' After hearing it for the first time, I say "Where have you been Billy and what took you so long to get back?" Billy Dean is back, and in my humble opinion he sounds better than he ever did.
February 6, 2013 Clinton Gregory is trying to make a come back, and he's releases a new song called 'Too Much Ain't Enough'. In a recent interview, Clinton talks about his life, where he's been, what he's been up to and where he'd like to be in the next few years. Gregory also talked about the album and his new release. It's been at least seven years since I've heard anything new from the bluegrass fiddle playing singer/songwriter. The noticeable changes are, he's colored his hair and he looks more fit. But what about his music?
February 5, 2013 Amidst a lot of controversy and negative publicity from the media on the heels of her now public announcement that she, Taylor Swift will be endorsing 'Diet Coke.' As Swift says in the video "we're actually making it official with one of the great loves of my life, Diet Coke." So, what's the big deal? According to some, "America is in an obesity epidemic" and sodas are the children's enemy. Laurie David a writer for the Huffington Post says "not only are we in an obesity epidemic but a diabetes epidemic as well." Taylor says the partnership is going to include "some great things on this tour."
February 4, 2013 Singer/songwriter Madonna Nash was inspired to write the song 'Don't Leave' by a friend who is a military wife. All the wife was asking for, was a little more time with the man she so dearly loves. The song struck a nerve with me because I remember when I was a kid, mom saying the very same thing to my dad before he was deployed to Vietnam. It's the very same thing I envision many military spouses doing all over West Texas, being that we are a big Military town. One last thing, as I watched the video I not only felt her pain but her loneliness as well. Check it out.
February 4, 2013 The "Free Immunization Clinics" and the "Care Vans" are a direct result of several organizations working together to offer these services in Abilene. Through a coordinated effort, the "Caring for Children Foundation of Texas, Inc.", Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and the Medical Care Mission are all directly responsible for helping immunize many Abilene and West Texas Children over the years. Now The Care Van is holding another immunization clinic on Thursday February 7th at 1857 Pine Street.
February 4, 2013 The Abilene Region 14 Education Service Center and the Autism Speaks foundation are hosting the "9th Annual Autism Extravaganza" and the “Greater Abilene Walk Now for Autism Speaks” kick-off luncheon at the ACU Hunter Welcome Center, Wednesday, February 6th. This years featured speaker is John Elder Robison, author and lecturer. Robison will share his unique experiences as a person living with Asperger Syndrome.

February 2, 2013 The much anticipated Kenny Chesney single from his forthcoming album was released Friday as Kenny's fans lined up to hear 'Pirate Flag' his new song online, for the first time. No Shoes Radio is Chesney's personal internet radio station, and according to Kenny's website "the tune in was so intense, the bandwidth was filled to the brink that it was slowed to a slightly less than optimal speed." Kenny went on to say "this is crazy!"
