It just does not sound appealing at all to me but it's good for you.  It's not available here in the states but has been used in places overseas, like Italy, for many years.  The research project was performed by the University of Naples, in Italy.  The milk from donkeys has been shown to reduce your weight and lower heart disease.  The researchers did studies on rats giving them cow's

milk and donkey's milk.  Those that were given the donkey milk had lower triglycerides, the fat found in your blood, and also lowered cholesterol.  The donkeys milk is high in calcium, low in fat and has Omega-3 fatty acids.  These are all good things.  The donkey milk is also very similar to human milk which could be beneficial to those who are allergic to dairy products.  I guess it's not that different from goats milk, people drink that as well it's just not something you would think about....getting milk from a donkey.  As I mentioned it has been consumed in Italy for years.  The Italians have very low heart disease, Americans very high heart disease.  Whether or not the U.S. would allow marketing of the product is yet to be seen but if you have a donkey, well, you go first, I believe I'll stick to cows milk.  Have you ever tried to milk a donkey?
