Tucker Beathard's debut album, Nobody's Everything, represents a hard-won climb to creative independence that cost the country singer a major-label record deal and the freedom to release music for a long time, while he extricated himself from his contract. It's been a bumpy road toward being able to release music on his own terms following the release of his early single, the Top 10 hit "Rock On."

Amid the lows, however, Beathard experienced some highs early in his music career, such as the day he heard his song on country radio for the first time. Read on to learn about that day, which was also special because it was the singer's first trip to the fast food chain In-N-Out Burger.

I was in Phoenix, Ariz. I was in an In-N-Out parking lot. It was the first time I had In-N-Out, too, so that was a good day.

I think [the radio station] was KMLE, they were the radio station that played it. I'd just gotten out of their station, and they were like, "Man, we're gonna play it at this time. We wanna be the first people you hear your song from." It was a special moment, for sure.

[These days], shoot, I'd be lying if I said I listened to the radio. But if I do hear it, if I stumble across it, I'll for sure turn it up. You've got to. Just for the heck of it.
