Texas Crooner Joshua Ray Walker Performs on the Tonight Show
Texas songwriter Joshua Ray Walker just made his TV debut on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The 29-year old Dallas, Texas native performed the song "Sexy After Dark" off of his latest album "See You Next Time".
Apparently, Walker was supposed to be on the Tonight Show last month, but due to a band member getting Covid, the date was scheduled for a later date, which happened to be last night February 1st.
The song is about "turning on the swagger when the sun goes down". Walker definitely had the swagger as he delivered one heck of a performance with his full band. The dude is good, really dang good.
You can check out the performance in the player below.
“There’s a deep history of sexy-crooner country songs played by dudes who were pretty unsexy by all accounts but still had so much swagger,” Walker told Rolling Stone last summer. “‘Sexy After Dark’ was my attempt at writing a song like that.”
If you want to see Joshua Ray Walker perform live, his tour starts tonight (February 2nd) in Oklahoma and has several Texas tour dates.
