Terry Bradshaw Celebrates Meals on Wheels 50th in Abilene

It’s time to pull out the party hats and horns, Abilene’s Meals on Wheels Plus is celebrating 50 years of feeding seniors in our community. Since July 1975, Director Betty Bradley has been at the helm, providing more than just meals, she’s been delivering hope, care, and compassion to our elderly neighbors.

I’ve been at the radio station since February 1978, and for more than four decades, I’ve had the privilege of working side by side with Betty on countless fundraisers, events, and community outreach programs. Betty Bradley isn’t just a director, she’s a living legend in our hometown.

Feeding 1,800 and Growing

Meals on Wheels Plus continues to deliver hot, nutritious meals to more than 1,800 seniors across Abilene, five counties, and 14 surrounding communities. This year’s 50th Anniversary Celebration is their biggest fundraiser of the year, and it’s shaping up to be unforgettable.

NFL Legend Terry Bradshaw Coming to Abilene

This year’s celebration will feature NFL Hall of Famer, four-time Super Bowl champ, and Hollywood Walk of Famer Terry Bradshaw. He’s also a TV host, Emmy-winning actor, gospel and country music singer, and a powerhouse motivational speaker, and he’ll be the featured guest at this special evening.

Dinner, Auctions, and Big-Time Raffle Prizes

The fundraiser will include dinner, live entertainment, raffles, silent and live auctions, and of course, the one and only Terry Bradshaw. The event is scheduled for Thursday,  May 22nd, 2025 at the Double Tree Hilton in Abilene. Raffle prizes include:
